Instructor: Scott Campsall – 1st Dan
Although he has been fascinated with martial arts study for most of his life, Scott Campsall Renshi started seriously training with Kyoshi Fred Walker in 1994. Five years later under Kyoshi Walker’s guidance he founded Okami Kai which provides award winning martial arts education to the Uxbridge, Ontario area. Campsall Renshi later received his fourth degree black belt in Karate from Roger Jarrett Shihan of the North American Karate Federation. He now currently trains with 9th degree black belt Cezar Borkowski Hanshi of Northern Karate Schools in Toronto. Under Borkowski Hanshi’s guidance, he is always adapting and evolving his martial arts knowledge. In September 2011, Campsall Renshi was promoted to the rank of Godan (5th degree) black belt in the art of Karate by Borkowski Hanshi accompanied by 10th Degree black belts Masami Tsuruoka, Tetsuhiro Hokama, and Kiyonori Shiroma. His journey into Yoshinkai Aikido training began in early 2002 under the guidance of 9th degree black belt Kevin Blok Hanshi of Windsor, Ontario. It was under Blok Hanshi that he received his Shodan (first degree) black belt in Aikido in October 2011. Campsall Renshi also works as an Advanced Instructor with On Guard International, has also been certified in Non-Physical Crisis Intervention and also as an adjustable baton instructor.

Sensei Labelle received his 1st Dan in Judo in 1976. He has instructed Tai Chi and is a 6th Dan in Tae Kwon Do. He began his Aikido training in 1980 and holds a 1st Dan in Aikikai Aikido. Éric Gougeon Sensei started his martial practice in September of 1993. Lavictoire Sensei started practicing martial arts under the tutelage of Yves Joanisse Shidoin in 1996, specializing in Ju Jitsu and Aikido. Marcus Schoon Shihan-dai began Aikido in 1982 and has graduated from a 24 month instructor’s course under Blok Hanshi. He was promoted to 5th degree black belt and awarded the teaching title of Shihan-Dai (Associate Master Instructor) in April 2017. Introduced to Aikido in 1967, he studied one year under Ken Ota Sensei in California. Parks Sensei began Aikido in 1989 and has graduated from a 20 month instructor’s course under Blok Hanshi. Chris Hengstebeck Sensei began his Aikido training in 1980 under the instruction of Takashi Kushida Sensei at the Budokan Dojo in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to that, he had extensive training in both boxing and kick boxing. Hengstebeck Sensei received his Yondan from Blok Hanshi in 2015. In addition, he attained the staff instructor level for On Guard Control and Defensive Tactics in December 2000. Hengstebeck Sensei has coordinated executive protection for such individuals as Margaret Thatcher, General Norman Schwarzkopf Jr., Colin Powell, Jehan Sadat and many others. Jarrett Hanshi (Senior Master Instructor) began Aikido training in 1974 under the direction of Fumio Toyoda Shihan. He received 7th degree black belt and was awarded a Kyoshi licence in 2014 from Blok Hanshi. He began his overall martial arts training in 1966 and holds Shihan and Hanshi licenses in Tae Kwon Do (9th dan) and Karate (9th dan), Judo (8th dan), Jujitsu (8th dan) and Iaido (8th dan). Jarrett Hanshi is a professional martial arts instructor and is the President/Chief Instructor of the USA Martial Arts Federation which oversees several martial arts organizations including the USA Aikido Association. In addition to serving as an International Referee for the World Karate Federation, Jarrett Hanshi serves as President of the North American Karate Federation and President of the USA National Karate-do Federation, which is the national governing body for Sport Karate within the United States as recognized by the United States Olympic Committee. Wright Sensei began his Aikido training in 1999 studying Aikido in Fairmont WV, under Osborne Renshi and was promoted to Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in April 2009 by Jarrett Shihan. Wright Sensei assists in instruction and operation of the Taishinkan Dojo. In addition to studying Aikido, Wright Sensei is a student of Judo under Sumpter Shihan. Bushnell Shihan (Master Instructor) had his martial arts interest sparked while serving as a Navy Sea Bee in Viet Nam during the 1960’s. His first formal study was with Master Yang Moon, of New Orleans, LA, where he received his Tae Kwon Do black belt certification. Relocating to Alabama in 1982, he opened Bluff Park Tae Kwon Do teaching the Cha Yon Ryu style. Under the direction of Roger Jarrett Hanshi, USA Martial Arts Federation (USAMAF), he began his study of Japanese Karate and Aikido. Bushnell Shihan was granted instructor certification and licensed to teach Aikido by Fumio Toyoda Shihan in 1993 and was subsequently granted a license to teach Aikido by Blok Hanshi with the Chudokai Aikido Federation International (CAFI). He received his 6th degree black belt in Aikido and was awarded the teaching title of Shihan in 2015. He holds a 8th degree black belt in the Chong Shin Tae Kwon Do / Karate system and is 4th degree black belt in Judo and Iaido. Bushnell Shihan serves as the CAFI & USAMAF Southeast U.S. Regional Director and in this capacity serves as a consultant for dojo within the region. Frix Sensei began his love of the martial arts at a young age when he trained in an Okinawan style of karate called Seibukan Shorin-Ryu. He also practiced Japanese karate, hapkido, and kumdo in those earlier years. His training in aikido began in 2004. In 2013, he was awarded 3rd degree black belt in Aikido by Bushnell Shihan-dai and opened the Aikido program of USA Martial Arts in Alpharetta. Guy Williams Williams Sensei began his martial arts training in 1987 with Tae Kwon Do. Between 1988 and 1993 he trained in Escrima/Kali, Ba Gua, and Tai Chi Chuan. In 1995 he began Aikido training in Mendocino, CA. In 1996 he began training in Aikido with Steve Ivey Sensei in Medford, OR. Chambers Shihan-Dai began his Aikido training with Blok Hanshi in 1987. He later enlisted in the Canadian army, was decorated for tours in Somalia and Bosnia and was the first to bring Aikido to the Canadian military, running several dojos while serving. After retiring from the military, Chambers Shihan-Dai moved to Tokyo, Japan to study under many of the masters of Aikido at the Yoshinkan Hombu Dojo. Recently he founded Ronin Kenjutsu, a style of Japanese Swordsmanship that focuses on the practical application of the Katana. He is currently the Chief Instructor and Dojocho for the Roninkan Samurai Club of Kansas.

Bill Triolet Sensei began Yoshinkai Aikido in the Chudokai Aikido Federation in August 1993. In 2007 he graduated from 84 months of instructor’s program (Kenshu) under Blok Hanshi. Harden Sensei began studying Aikido in 1969 at age ten. He went on to train in Tae Kwon Do with the Jhoon Rhee Institute and studied numerous martial arts, eventually earning a Shodan level in Aikido, Isshin Ryu Karate, and a 7th Dan in Tae Kwon Do awarded in June 2011 by Grand Master William Valdes. He was a major tournament competitor, frequently earning top rankings in both forms and fighting at the regional and national levels and founded Western Masters Martial Arts in 1979. Harden Sensei was promoted to Sandan in Aikido in December 2011 by Blok Hanshi and awarded the title of Shidoin (advanced instructor). He holds two Bachelor of Science Degrees, as well as a Master’s Degree in Medical Science Education. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins affiliate Physician Assistant Program, and is board certified in Primary Care Medicine and General Surgery. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the Wilderness Medical Society, a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army Flight Surgeon Program, SERE School, Combat Tactical Medicine School, Military Combatives Training, Medical Specialization residency courses in both Emergency Medicine and Orthopedics, and numerous other military and professional courses. Harden Sensei currently serves as a Senior Flight Surgeon and Colonel with more than 20 years of service to his country (Estonia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Hurricane Katrina). Harris Sensei began his Aikido training in 1984 under Glenn Pack Sensei at the University of Alabama in the composite art of Yoseikan Budo. Work opportunities took him to Huntsville, AL and he became the Huntsville Aikido dojocho in 1991. He trained in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1994 where he was promoted to Nidan by Minoru Mochizuki Shihan and later to Sandan in Jujitsu and Aikido (1998). The Huntsville Aikido school was renamed Shindokan in 2010 when he joined the Chudokan Aikido Federation under the supervision of Van Bushnell Shihan-Dai. Fox Shihan-Dai (associate master instructor) began Aikido in 1981 and graduated from instructor’s courses under both Takashi Kushida Sensei (20 months) and Blok Hanshi (37 months). He is the U.S. West Coast Director of On-Guard International and he worked with “Save Our Sons & Daughters” in Detroit, conducting Non-Violent Resolution of Conflict seminars. He has also assisted Blok Hanshi with defensive tactics courses at the Canadian Police College for the R.C.M.P and at St. Clair College in Windsor. In addition he founded the Aikan Dojo in Detroit, Michigan in 1985 and relocated it to Oregon in 1994. He was promoted to 5th degree black belt by Blok Hanshi in November 2006 and holds an international teaching license from Japan. He was promoted to Shodan in Arnis by Grandmaster Jose E. Bueno in 2010. Fox Shihan-Dai is a professional Aikido and Arnis instructor.
Shant Palanjian – 3rd Dan
Palanjian Sensei began Aikido in 1988 and was promoted in March 2009 to Nidan by Fox Shihan-Dai. In November 2011, he was promoted to Sandan and awarded the teaching title of Shidoin (advanced instructor). His Aikido instruction has been from various instructors including, Blok Hanshi, Fox Shihan-Dai, Danielle Smith Sensei (Aikikai), Lori Parker Sensei, and Wayne Tourda Sensei. Palanjian Sensei teaches Aikido with Fox Shihan-Dai at the Aikan Dojo as well as teaching all adult classes in the Grants Pass Dojo as its Director and Chief Instructor. He works in the information technology field and enjoys hiking and outdoor activities.

Davis Sensei began his Aikido training in 1990 with Gayle Fillman Sensei in California, under the direction of Shiohira Hidoki Shihan. He was promoted to Shodan in 1996 and Nidan in 2005.. Davis Sensei currently teaches adult and children’s Aikido classes at his Dojo. Davis Sensei and Blok Hanshi have interacted for many years and Davis Sensei joined the Chudokai Aikido Federation International in late 2011, shortly after the passing of Fillman Sensei. Davis Sensei is self-employed as an artist, creating painting and glass art.

MacConkey Renshi began his martial arts training at the age of 10 in Tennessee. After moving to Alabama he continued his training. In 2003 the World Taekwondo Headquarters in Soul Korea certified his 1st Degree Black Belt. The following year he began his Aikido and Japanese Karate training under the direction of Bushnell Shihan at the Retsushinkan Dojo. At the Retsushinkan, he served as uchideshi (live in student) focusing on his own training, the instruction of others, and the inside operations of the training center. In 2007, MacConkey Renshi was chosen to participate in an instructor-in-training program. After completing 8 years of personal development, training & teaching, Van Bushnell Shihan appointed him to the position of Head Instructor (Dojo Cho). His selection was approved by both Roger Jarrett Hanshi and Kevin Blok Hanshi. MacConkey Renshi is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo/Karate, a 4th Degree Black Belt in Aikido, a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Iaido, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Judo/Jujitsu and is certified as a “National Referee” by the US Olympic Committee’s governing body for sport karate.
